SAP is making great strides with SAP Fiori, but many organizations today still don’t fully understand the added value that Fiori offers. We’ve listed the five main benefits below:

The biggest advantage of SAP Fiori is, of course, the improved user experience. Fiori features intuitive screens designed from the user’s perspective. This significantly boosts productivity. In 2021, we at INNOV8iON set up a new SAP system for the Government of the Caribbean Netherlands (RCN), in which end users primarily use SAP Fiori. During the training period, we really noticed that users got the hang of the new Fiori applications much faster than the classic SAP transactions. The Fiori apps also share a similar style, which meant that the knowledge users gained from one Fiori application could be applied to other apps as well. This allowed RCN to save a significant amount of time (and money) on training.
3. A wide range of standard applications
Thousands of standard Fiori apps are available in the Fiori Apps Library. Thanks to this extensive selection, the amount of customization can be minimized. Apps can be installed quite easily. If an app is still missing certain functionality, SAP offers various options for creating extensions to existing apps. In most cases, this can be done in an “upgrade-safe” manner, ensuring that your changes are not affected by any future SAP software updates.
4. Improved flexibility and responsive design
Fiori works in various browsers and can also be used on mobile devices. We now live in an era where hybrid work has become the norm for many companies. SAP Fiori meets this need well, because you are no longer dependent on the SAP GUI to perform your work.
5. Keeping Pace with Innovation
Artificial intelligence, data analysis, and cloud services are terms that have become indispensable in today’s IT sector. SAP has certainly taken note of this and offers various solutions for these technologies. Think of analytical Fiori applications that let you set up your own dashboards, or a chatbot, complete with a user-friendly interface to customize it to your needs. SAP is making significant strides in innovation, but companies still using outdated SAP software unfortunately see very little of this progress.
